Making Whiskey-1794 depicts the process of distilling Pennsylvania rye into whiskey during the 18th century. The grain is shown in the foreground ; it is made into mash and poured into the still , water is added and it is heated. The lid is put on as a fire is lit . The alcohol travels through copper piping into a jug while it is being cooled by flowing water. This is a giclee color print on paper.
